Bocas del Toro Retreat - A Decision-Free Week
Travel isn't meant to feel like another thing to manage.
When was the last time you took a trip and truly switched off? Not because you managed to squeeze a vacation into your calendar, but because you stopped thinking about what came next.
For many women, that's become surprisingly rare.
Even when we travel, we're still organizing, coordinating, anticipating, and making decisions from the moment we wake up until the day we leave.

The destination changes, but the role doesn't.
Unhurried Experiences was built to change the way you vacation.
This inaugural small-group retreat removes the need for you to endlessly plan and just relax, the slower pace is intentional, and every detail has been thoughtfully considered before you arrive.
Instead of spending your energy figuring out what's next, settle into where you are, connect with new people, and fully immerse into your retreat.
Meaningful travel doesn’t come from doing more. It comes from having the time and space to fully experience where you are.
A Different Kind of Getaway
Most vacations ask you to do all the work. You choose the destination, compare hotels, read countless reviews, build an itinerary, coordinate transportation, and hope everything comes together once you arrive.
Our retreats work differently.
Every experience is thoughtfully designed because we believe the greatest luxury isn't a five-star hotel or an endless itinerary. It's the peace of mind that comes from knowing someone else has already taken care of the details.
But that doesn't mean every minute is scheduled. Quite the opposite.
We created enough structure that you always feel supported, while leaving plenty of room to slow down, follow your curiosity, or spend an afternoon doing very little at all.
When you're no longer thinking about logistics, you start noticing the things that make a place unforgettable: the conversations, the landscapes, the food, and the moments you never could have planned.
That's the experience you take home with you..
Unhurried Experiences was created as a way to give women something that's become surprisingly rare: the chance to stop carrying the load.
Everywhere I look, women are carrying “the load”. Building careers, supporting families, showing up for friends, solving problems, and making hundreds of decisions every day. Even when you finally take a vacation, you find yourself planning the trip instead of enjoying it.
Bocas del Toro was an amazing experience for me and showed me what happens when you surrender and slow down.
I have built incredible friendships with local people, discovered places I never would have found on my own, and experienced the kind of hospitality that makes you feel less like a tourist and more like a welcomed guest.
Now, I want to share that experience with you.
Everyone deserves the opportunity to set down the responsibility they've been carrying and allow someone else to take care of the details.
That's what Unhurried Experiences is all about.
By the way, I’m Saree!
There are certain places that stay with you long after you've left them. Sometimes it's because of the landscape. Sometimes it's because of the people you meet or the conversations you have. More often than not, it's because of the way that place made you feel.
That's what happened to me when I first travelled to Bocas del Toro.
Like many people, I arrived with a loose itinerary and a list of things I wanted to see. What I hadn't expected was that the moments I'd remember most would have very little to do with checking anything off that list.

Instead, I found myself slowing down.
I spent time with people who welcomed me into their community with incredible generosity. I discovered quiet beaches, and hidden corners of the islands that I never would have found on my own. I surfed, shared long meals with new friends, and experienced a pace of life that felt very different from the one I'd left behind.
It changed the way I thought about travel and showed me that the places we remember most are often the ones where we feel the most connected.
Eventually, I found myself asking a simple question.
What if other women could experience this place the way I had?
That answer became Unhurried Experiences.
I created this retreat because we as women need a break and need to be cared for. I wanted to make it easier for women to discover a place where they could slow down, feel genuinely cared for, and experience the joy of letting someone else take care of the planning for a while.
Running my own interior decorating business for more than a decade has influenced how I approached building Unhurried Experiences. Although the work is very different, the philosophy is the same. Thoughtful design has the power to shape how people feel. Whether it's a home or a retreat, the goal isn't to impress people. It's to help them feel comfortable, welcomed, and completely at ease.
That philosophy guides every decision we make, from the places we stay to the people we partner with and the experiences we choose to share.
My hope is you return home feeling lighter than when you arrived.
This retreat is shaped by the destination, its culture, and the people who call it home. What remains constant is the way we approach the experience.
Our retreats are intentionally small, thoughtfully paced, and designed to help you connect with the places you visit rather than simply pass through them. You'll enjoy beautiful accommodations, exceptional local food, time in nature, meaningful conversations, and experiences that invite curiosity rather than performance. Just as importantly, you'll have something that's becoming increasingly rare: the freedom to simply enjoy where you are.
Our inaugural retreat takes place in Bocas del Toro, a collection of islands on Panama's Caribbean coast where colourful Afro-Caribbean culture, lush rainforest, and crystal-clear water naturally invite you to slow down.
Your Week in Bocas del Toro

Day 1
Arrive & Exhale
Your journey to Bocas del Toro has been thoughtfully arranged from Panama City to the water taxi and finally to your hillside retreat.
Settle into your cabana with a refreshing welcome drink and fresh tropical fruit before taking time to explore, unwind, or simply listen to the sounds of the rainforest. We'll gather for our first dinner together as the week begins.

Day 2
Your Surf Journey Begins
Meet Omar, one of the island's most respected surf instructors, for your first lesson at Mono Loco.
After lunch, you'll have time to relax before joining a foot mobility session designed to improve balance, stability, and movement. As evening falls, we'll head out for a magical swim beneath the bioluminescent waters of the new moon.

Day 3
Find Your Rhythm
Your second surf lesson builds on the previous day before the afternoon slows once again.
Enjoy lunch, time to yourself, another mobility session, and a medicinal plant facial featuring locally sourced herbs that have been used on the islands for generations.

Day 4
A Celebration of Culture
Your final surf lesson is followed by an Afro-Caribbean dance experience led by local high school students. That evening, you'll join Mono Loco's invitation-only community gathering, where local musicians, food vendors, and neighbours come together to celebrate island life.

Day 5
Celebrate the Journey
Spend the day aboard a private catamaran exploring the archipelago. Swim, snorkel, watch for dolphins, enjoy music, and take in the beauty of Bocas from the water before gathering for a beachfront dinner and bonfire at Los Raices.

Day 6
Until Next Time
Share one final breakfast at Pure Roots before we take care of your transfer back to the airport.
We hope you return home rested, refreshed, and carrying memories of a week that stayed with you long after it ended.
As memorable as these experiences are, they aren't what define the week.
What guests remember most is how they felt while they were here. They remember drinking coffee while the rainforest slowly came to life, laughing through their first surf lesson, watching dolphins appear beside the boat, and realizing one afternoon that they hadn't looked at the time in hours.
Those moments can't be scheduled, but they can be made possible. By slowing the pace and taking care of the details, we create the space for them to happen naturally.
If Bocas sounds like the kind of place you've been hoping to discover, we'd love to tell you more.
Why We So Often Put Ourselves Last
Over the years, I've had countless conversations with women who tell me they'd love to take a trip like this. Almost every conversation ends the same way.
"Maybe next year."
"Once work settles down."
"When life isn't quite so busy."
"After the kids are older."
The reasons are always understandable. Life is full, and there are people depending on us. Careers, families, friendships, and responsibilities naturally take priority, making it easy to believe there will be a better time later.
The reality is that later rarely arrives. There will always be another project, another commitment, or another season that feels just a little too busy.
Taking time away isn't about escaping your life. It's about creating space to return to it feeling rested, inspired, and connected to yourself again.
If you've found yourself imagining what it might feel like to spend a week surrounded by nature, sharing meaningful experiences with wonderful women, and leaving the planning to someone else, perhaps that's worth paying attention to.
Life is richer when we occasionally allow ourselves the time to pause.

Curious and want to talk it through?
Choosing a retreat should feel as unhurried as the experience itself, which is why I am happy to begin with a conversation.
Let’s take the time to learn what you're looking for, answer any questions you have, and help you decide whether an Unhurried Experience feels like the right fit. If it does, wonderful. If it doesn't, that's perfectly okay too. We'd much rather help you make the right decision than pressure you into a quick one.
Whenever you're ready, I'd love to hear from you.
